The National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE)

Established by Law No. 82 of 2006, with its Executive Regulations issued in 2007, the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) is an independent public authority as defined in Article 1 of the law.

NAQAAE reports directly to the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and the Parliament of Egypt, ensuring transparency and national alignment in its operations.

NAQAAE plays a vital role in reviewing and evaluating the quality of academic standards across Higher Education institutions, including universities and colleges. It ensures that education providers uphold excellence and accountability in delivering academic programs.

In addition to accreditation, NAQAAE offers a wide range of technical guidance and support to help institutions maintain and enhance the quality of education. It assists in identifying national priorities, addressing capacity-building needs, and promoting ownership and implementation of recommended quality programs. Currently, NAQAAE is led by Prof. Dr. Alaa Ashmawy.
