The policy aims to transform Egypt into a knowledge-based, innovative, and sustainable society, positioning the country among the top 50 in the Global Innovation Index by 2030.
The strategy is built on four main pillars: talent availability, technology transfer, financing access, and an improved work environment, alongside enablers like building R&D capacity and bridging the gap between research and innovation. Dr. Ashour emphasized that Egypt must shift from consuming knowledge to producing and exporting it, becoming a regional hub for creativity and innovation.
The launch reflects the implementation of the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" principle and supports the presidential initiative "Tahalof wa Tanmia" (Alliance and Development). The Ministry affirmed its commitment to working with universities, industry, and government to advance innovation, support economic growth, and integrate research with national development.
Egypt’s improved global innovation ranking, growing startup ecosystem, and international recognition of researchers were highlighted as outcomes of this strategy. A high-level committee has been formed to oversee the policy’s implementation, aiming to align innovation efforts with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and ensure high economic returns on investment.
