The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) serves as Egypt’s national think tank in science, technology, and innovation, and acts as the overarching umbrella for planning, coordinating, and funding scientific research. Established in 1971 by presidential decree, ASRT brings together leading experts from universities, research centers, and industry to propose and implement applied research projects that address national development priorities. It also hosts national scientific committees aligned with international standards and oversees 20 specialized councils across diverse scientific domains. The academy is currently presided over by Prof. Dr. Gina El-Feky.
