With participation from 553 entities, the initiative focuses on key sectors like agriculture, industry, tourism, and technology.
During a press conference, Dr. Ayman Ashour announced the results of the first phase, including the creation of 104 development alliances, the activation of the Innovation Incentives Law, and the release of Egypt’s first regional research map. The initiative supports Egypt’s move toward Higher Education 4.0, emphasizing partnerships between universities, industry, and government.
Each alliance receives 90–150 million EGP over 3 years to develop sector-specific innovations, including a business model for electric vehicle batteries. The initiative spans Egypt’s seven economic regions and aims to create sustainable, innovation-based ecosystems.
The “Be Ready” program, targeting students and graduates, offers training in AI, entrepreneurship, and institutional innovation, in collaboration with international partners like UNDP, ICESCO, and GInI.
The Ministry is also expanding technological universities and launching new programs in smart agriculture, ICT, and mechatronics, reinforcing its goal to link scientific research to industrial development and foster a competitive knowledge economy.
